ASW 27

Semi-scale sailplane ASW 27 is another model of ASW series. Unlike ASW 24 and ASW 28, ASW 27 has split flaps, which change curvature of the airfoil. They increase the manoeuverability of the model and allow it to fly at lower minimum speed – a great advantage in weak thermal conditions and during landing. ASW 27 has removable winglets that improve circling at minimum speed by decreasing induced resistance.

The fuselage of ASW 27 is made of fiberglass. The cockpit has a moulded seat.

The wing is a composite of Styrofoam, fiberglass, and balsa, all covered with white iron-on ORACOVER foil. The spar is made of wood. The parts of the wing are connected to the fuselage by a 14x2mm flat steel bar.

Standard equipment of the sailplane includes Schempp-Hirth air brakes. Additionally, the model can be custom equipped with retractable landing gear and an airtow release mechanism. The model has the original true scale sailplane livery applied. If the customer wishes, colour of the standard decals can be changed or these can be completely custom made.

With basic equipment, the model requires eight (8) servos, i.e., elevator, rudder, ailerons, flaps and airbrakes. Two (2) extra servos are then needed for the operation of the retractable landing gear and airtow release mechanism.

The glider ASW 27 can be easily transported and stored in our fully moulded transportation Cobra case with a shoulder strap, which we developed for models of this size.
